This year Ken's kitchen is being renovated...so
we need someone to make a substitute chili. Any takers?
Bring a dish for the noontime luncheon.
For the flying part:
-----------------------
Dress Warm
Bring goggles - the wind can tear up your eyes, flying blind sucks
glow engines LOVE lighter fluid when they're cold, no harm to 'em either
Did I mention ...Dress warm ? Oh ya, I did.
please call Ken to confirm if you're going 1 week prior to event, (802) 372-3216
Hope to see you there!
(Updated)
Note from RCAddict:
Some other things to bring:
- Gloves
- ones that have exposed finger tips so you can fly,
- OR even vinyl, medical type, gloves help to keep the wind off and if you spill some fuel etc, you can change em out easily. They really do help with the cold cold wind.
- Of course if you do this, make sure you also bring some real gloves to keep warm. - Transmitter Mitt
These things are amazing, you can order them online in a few places, there was someone associated with Vermont Modelers that were making them, Keeps your hands toasty warm (Especially if you throw some chemical hand warmers inside) - A Sled
Its a little further from the parking to the pits, a sled can be a real help in getting your gear to the ice, that is if you don't drive out onto the ice from the boat launch down the road. - For the Electrics
Remember even though LiPo's storage temp allows for temperatures down to freezing (according to some guy on RC groups) Ideal Operating temperature is up around 60 Degrees, finding a method of keeping them above freezing could greatly help your performance. - Full Charges
The NiCAD/NiMh batteries for your recievers, transmitters, etc. will not have as long as a battery life in cold. Make sure everything gets topped off before you get there! - Ski's and Floats
If there is snow on the ice you will need either floats or ski's, Looking out the window right now, it'll probably be bare ice, if so, wheels will work just fine
